چکیده

Abstract With background information on the geological conditions of Fenghuo village, Qingling town, Wuhan, based Terzaghi consolidation theory and GMS software, a hydrodynamic-mechanics coupling model was established. On basis simulating groundwater flow field by mechanical calculation program developed, simulation hydrodynamic mechanics achieved. The results showed that stress state, vertical deformation, damage soil are closely related to underground water flow. pressure value effective relatively low from July August every year. It is result buoyancy produced groundwater. Soil settlement generally occurs in dry season. When load not considered, deformation less than 6 mm. In wet season year, will float up, floating 4 table changes frequently, destruction around cave body eventually leads karst collapse.

Direct Numerical Simulation of Turbulence Collapse and Rebirth in Stably Stratified Ekman Flow

Direct numerical simulations of an Ekman layer are performed to study flow evolution during the response of an initially neutral boundary layer to stable stratification. The Obukhov length, L , is varied among cases by imposing a range of stable buoyancy fluxes at the surface to mimic ground cooling. The imposition of constant surface buoyancy flux , i.e. constant-flux stability, leads to a buo...

simulation of collapse settlement in rockfill material due to saturation

in the first impounding of rockfill dams, additional settlements occur in upstream side in saturated rockfills due to collapse phenomenon even high rainy seasons can cause additional deformation in the dumped rockfills. unfortunately these displacements are not taken into account in the conventional numerical models which are currently used to predict embankment dam behavior during impounding. ...

Numerical Simulation of Cavitation in Mixed Flow Pump

The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance and three-dimensional behavior of the flow in a mixed flow pump and the way cavitation phenomenon is affected by different parameters such as fluid temperature, pump speed and flow rate. Computational fluid dynamic software FLUENT 6.3 was utilized to simulate the whole flow field of the pump. RNG k-ε model combined with standard wall f...
